On September 12-14, 2010, leaders from across our community will travel to Asheville, NC for the Inter-City Visit and Leadership Conference.

PURPOSE OF THE INTER-CITY VISIT

The purpose of the Inter-City Visit and Leadership Conference is to convene leaders of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community to learn from the experiences of another community, to better understand our community’s assets, and to build relationships among participants that will help us successfully address our local challenges and opportunities. This year’s visit is to Asheville, where we will learn how another progressive North Carolina community is succeeding in economic development. Key agenda items will include community branding and positioning, funding and financing economic development efforts and projects, downtown redevelopment, and the positive impact of tourism.

As in previous years, the Inter-City Visit will draw diverse leaders from across our community including local business owners and managers, elected officials, university leaders, non-profit leaders, municipal and county staff, and community members. All members of our community are welcome and encouraged to participate.
